Open House Melbourne

Featuring over 200 properties including new buildings, plus a host of tours, talks, exhibitions and film screenings for one of the city's biggest celebrations of architecture.

Open House Melbourne Weekend 2019 takes place on Saturday the 27th and Sunday 28th of July in a variety of locations throughout inner and outer Melbourne. 

Highlights of the program include the recently renovated Capitol Theatre, which has been closed to the public for five years; the brand-new Ian Potter Southbank Centre, which is the new home of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music; Melbourne Quarter's new skypark; Clifton Hill's new 122 Roseneath St development; plus the new Denton Corker Marshall studio located at Collins Place.

Also on the agenda are tours of the currently-in-construction Westgate Tunnel, residential construction tours which will be led by up-and-coming architects, suburban walking tours by Jane's Walks, plus hospo tours of some of Melbourne's coolest dining institutions.

Open House Melbourne is the largest and longest-running Open House program in Australia, with more than 72,000 visits recorded across 220 buildings in 2018.

Since 2008, Open House Melbourne has facilitated more than 900,000 visits to 934 sites across Melbourne, enabling 229,660 people to explore and celebrate their city.

The majority of the program remains free, but some tours do require booking.
