It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves
Firelight Festival

The winter solstice is the day of the year that has the fewest daylight hours of any in the year, as the earth orbits the sun. It begins its long journey as it slowly turns towards the light. This event has spawned many cultural traditions to celebrate the longest night of the year. It marks a time to harvest, show gratitude and be mindful. It's a celebration for the gifts of our labour and the company of our community, and you can eat, drink and rejoice and bring light to the darkest night over three days from 28 to 30 June 2019 from 5pm to 10pm each evening at this FREE event.

The Firelight Festival at Victoria Harbour, New Quay Promenade, Docklands will be celebrated across New Quay Promenade, Harbour Esplanade and Victoria Harbour Promenade, featuring over 40 free performances a night from all corners of the globe. Indulge in delicious smokey, warm fare from some of your favourite food trucks like LImp Briskit, The Soup Factory and Frencheese as you enjoy performances from Bollywood dancers to a Mariachi band and everything in between. Docklands will be taken over by fire; from flame jets, fire drums and nightly fireworks which are sure to warm the air on a cold night. The night sky is going to be spectacularly interrupted by a new water and light show after dark, so be sure to come play with fire at the Festival,; best shared with family and friends.

The fireworks are scheduled to begin around 8:45pm, however this is very much weather dependant and may change. It's recommended you arrive early to enjoy the roving performers, flaming jets, water and light shows, and fire performers.

Please note that temporary road closures will be in place for Firelight Festival. For more information on road closures, please visit melbourne.vic.gov.au/roadclosures.
